Busy two weeks: last week I took a part in Yad vaShem’s summer workshop for researchers which was fascinating. The theme was “Your brother’s blood cries out to me: Face-to-Face Killings During the Holocaust” and the scholars represented chilling testimonies from various places in Europe. I’ve talked about the representation of “bystanders” in Israeli cinema. Yesterday I’ve returned from the EAJS conference in Krakow, which incorporated lectures in various Jewish related fields. I’ve talked about ethics and documentary in Israeli Holocaust films.
בשבועיים האחרונים השתתפתי בשני כנסים: בשבוע שעבר לקחתי חלק בסדנת הקיץ לחוקרים של יד ושם שעסקה ברצח פנים אל פנים czni vautv. החוקרים הביאו עדויות מצמררות מכל רחבי אירופה. אני דיברתי על ייצוג "העומדים מהצד" בקולנוע הישראלי. אתמול חזרתי מכנס ה EAJS בקרקוב, שכלל הרצאות רבות ומגוונות על נושאים יהודיים. דיברתי על אתיקה ודוקומנטרי בסרטי שואה ישראלים.
