Gave a talk in the "Madness in Popular Culture" conference in Edinburgh, Scotland. I discussed the representation of Holocaust Survivors as mentally ill in Israeli fiction films. Listened to very interesting discussions on the development of mental treatment and its representations, the influence of American sterilization perceptions on Nazi Euthanasia and the popular representations of the connection between "deviant" sexuality and mental illness. Edinburgh is an enchanted city that looks more like Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry than a capital…and I even did some hiking.

הרציתי בכנס "השגעון בתרבות הפופולרית" באדינבורו, סקוטלנד. עסקתי בייצוג של ניצולי השואה כחולי נפש בקולנוע הישראלי. הקשבתי לדיונים מרתקים על התפתחות הטיפול במחלות נפש בבתי חולים לחולי נפש וייצוגם בקולנוע, ההשפעה של תפיסות אמריקניות על פרויקט האותנסיה הנאצי, חיבורים בין מיניות למחלות נפש והעיסוק בכך ברשתות חברתיות . אדינבורו נראית כמו בית ספר לקוסמים יותר מאשר עיר בירה...ואפילו טיפסתי על הר.
