I gave a talk yesterday at the conference: “Depicting Violated Jewish Women During the Holocaust” in Memory of Nava Semel, in Bar-Ilan University. I talked about the misrepresentation of Women Holocaust Survivors in Israeli fiction films. The panels were thought provoking and fascinating. I thank Prof. Judy Baumel-Schwartz, Dr. Batya Brutin and Dr. Rocelle Saidel for that important conference. In addition to the difficult topic, the talks highlighted how beloved Nava Semel was. Unique, exceptional. May she rest in Peace.
הרציתי אתמול באוניברסיטת בר-אילן, בכנס Depicting Violated Jewish Women During the Holocaust לזכרה של נאוה סמל. עסקתי בדימוי המעוות של נשים ניצולות שואה בקולנוע הישראלי. ההרצאות היו מרתקות ומעשירות. תודה לפרופ' ג'ודי באומל, ד"ר בתיה ברוטין וד"ר רושל סיידל על היוזמה החשובה והמבורכת. הכנס הדגיש כמה נאוה סמל ז"ל היתה אהובה, מיוחדת, חד פעמית. יהי זכרה ברוך.
